2nd Stop: Washougal, Washington

Shop:     Wooly Wooly Wagtails
Owner:   Jennifer

Jennifer purchased the shop formally known as "It's a Crewel World" about a year and a half ago. Wooly Wooly Wagtails is a much better name (in my opinion), plus it's in Washougal, Washington. Washougal is just across the Columbia River from Oregon, and about 30 miles east of Portland. There's about 9,000 people in this small town, and the view of Mt. Hood is unbelievable. I took a picture with my phone, so it's not the best, but it's still pretty amazing:

Jennifer has five gals working for her at Wooly Wooly Wagtails, although the day I saw her she was manning the store by herself. We sat at a beatiful hand painted antique round table, right in the center of one of the three rooms in the store. It's the last surviving yarn shop on the Washington side of the Vancouver/Portland metro(ish) area, and I'm sure it's there to stay, It's got a lot of inventory and a great selection. Besides the round table one of the other rooms has an inviting sitting area with plenty of room for at least seven crafty people. Wagtails also offers needlepoint materials and threads.

That was our last stop in Washington, unless we happen to have many buttons left by the time we head back to seattle in early March. We're in Portland now visiting with friends and family this weekend. We have four shops we're selling to while we're in town. Those appointments are next week. First stop Monday: Close Knit in Portland, Oregon.
